I have been working with Shawn since 2009. I give him credit for my current fitness level and confidence in my physical abilities. He is my motivator, coach and friend - always pushing my capabilities while keeping a keen eye on form.
His style is truly personal. He helps me isolate achievable personal goals, modifies them over time and adjusts any given workout based on my energy level, injuries, or to simply stir things up, “here’s a log, do 10 box jumps.”
Shawn has trained me one-on-one, and in buddy and group session formats; we’ve worked in a gym, at a local park and on-trail. Workouts are varied, yet always cover the full body and never skimp on strength, balance, agility or endurance. My sessions include weights, resistance, pilates, stretching, ropes, boxing, yoga, TRX and all outdoor sessions include running and hills. We always have fun as laughter is part of every session.
I always leave my sessions feeling energized and proud of what I have accomplished. For these reasons, I believe Shawn is an excellent trainer. He knows how to push me in a way that draws on my confidence and then makes me want to do more. I could not ask for anyone better.

When I moved back to Marin from New York City I wanted to try working out with a trainer. I have always been athletic and enjoyed exercising but I knew I needed someone to help me get back in shape, help me with my form, and to push me beyond what I would normally do own my own. And after suffering the concrete jungle of Manhattan it seemed silly to be cooped up in a gym in beautiful Marin. Enter Mt tam Fitness. Shawn helped me achieve my goals and I have not been inside a gym since. We work out in parks and run trails all over Marin, so it is always an adventure. It's been over two years since we started working out together and I feel great!

I retained the services of Shawn years back. He provides personal training, nutritional guidance, and social interaction. We workout in both the customary indoor gym setting and outdoor environment with mountain biking, skiing, hiking and water sport activities. Sessions generally are for one hour, three days per week. However, the exercise activities may extend into five day boot camps anywhere in the world. Shawn is excellent at providing motivation to maintain physical and metal fitness. Shawn will encourage you to do those things in life which seemed to have "slipped by" along the way. Don't be surprised if you end up racing sport cars, skiing in the Rockies, firing AR-15's or doing push-ups in an oak tree. He always provides encouragement and praise. A session with Shawn is an inspiration which one looks forward to with enthusiasm. I feel and act like 26 years old again with Shawn. I'm 70 and convinced we will be working together for another 30 years. All this may sound oversurperlative, however, that is my genuine opinion of Shawn and his extraordinary talents. By the way, he recommended Facebook, GoPro and Tesla in their infancy. You may end up making money with this guy.
